Impression of The Month - Theater Photography
Entering the hall, murmuring, the curtain rises, a special atmosphere in the air - the 49th Festival of Monodrama and Pantomime is on the program - it is undoubtedly the impression of the month of November in the diary of a photographer! ☺️
This year's program of the Festival offered the photographers a multitude of characters and stories, which with the help of emotions and theatricality, costume design and scenography, awakened the inspiration to create diverse compositions of theater photography. The participants of the Festival played an unparalleled important role in that process, while the photographer, with his sensibility and skill, gives the shots a unique stamp at the end. Because one cannot do without the other - they follow and complement each other, synergy is indispensable when photographing a theater performance - inspiring, isn't it? ☺️
Photographing theater performances is a very complex process, full of challenges. With great attention and speed, as well as knowledge and special photo optics, it is necessary to follow starting from the characters and their protagonists, expressions and corporal rhetoric, all the way to the design of the piece, such as lighting arrangements, special effects and scenography - to capture the entire expression and the atmosphere of the performance, as well as its theme and essence is the main task of the photographic medium. And it doesn't need to accumulate additional words, let the photos themselves breathe and talk about a lot, they memorized them forever. Therefore, it's happiness when one art is at the service of another - photography as the main promoter of the theater! ❤️
