Countless Stories And Characters: Portrait Photography
A look caught in the moment - a facial expression - most creates a reflection of what we are currently thinking and feeling, our mood and emotions, our true self. It tells us a lot, although in most cases we are not aware of it. For some, it is certainly difficult to cover it up, and for many, not so much, it all depends on the character of the person. On the other hand, it manages to show some of us what is not our current inner state and something specific to our personality, to someone like e.g. Marija Maric, young theater actress. She is able to tell us and express many stories and their characters - fascinating, isn't it? That's why photographing actor’s book came to the fore in a photographer's diary this fall. ☺️
Photographing a portrait of an actor and how it presents a challenge. As a mirror of a profession, portraits of actors certainly have the role of business portraits, and accordingly, that approach should be followed. Therefore, the presentation of the actor's calling through the prism of the personality of the person portrayed is a really serious photographic task - by balancing between the real and the unreal, the personal story and the given role, the true image of the person portrayed, a true mirror of the self, is achieved.
The acting world is full of storytelling and playing. Those eyes of theirs, that look, posture and attitude, that their theatricality, talk about a lot and thus motivate a lot to create the most vivid shots of portrait photography that speak more than a thousand words and can be a real stunt of the characters. Of course, you should follow them, give them a chance, but also direct them towards the purpose of the photographs themselves - the enjoyment is great, as if you were on stage in the role of the main director - challenging and exciting, right? ☺️
